Did you know that oil runoff from land and industrial wastes into the ocean is about 363 million gallons per year* and just one quart of oil can pollute thousands of gallons of water.

To find a place to recycle your old oil, click on the "Green Pages" banner located in the right hand column of this page.  In the new browser window select "Recycling Providers" from the "I'm looking for" drop down menu and then put your zip code in the zip code field.

Get yourself a bucket for your used oil and then take it into any place that services cars.  They may charge you a tad but think about benefits and avoiding fines.  Check with your local county or  municipal waste offices or waste haulers for a free drop off site.

Some areas are beginning to offer special facilities for used oil because of the growing market for used motor oil.  Asphalt companies, power companies and other industrial facilities are burning used motor oil in place of typical fuel oil.  Motor oil costs less and has virtually zero sulphur content so it emits less pollution than regular fuel. Pictured is a free used oil drop-off site.

You've change your car's oil, recycled the used oil and filter, but did you overlook something? Being a true Eco-Auto owner means recycling things so obvious we often overlook them. Click the button to the right for the answer to this recycling question.
